ABC Hotel has decided to cancel the live event for January 17, 2009. More information will be coming later as to any further rule changes.

Last night the 2nd live event took place at the ABC Hotel. First of all Ruby and Ciah were added to the list of winners from the first event due to the fact that there has been a change to have only 3 events and 5 winners per event. Then,
the second round of the Maganda Filipina series began and went magnificently. As always, lubricated with Tequila, the event exploded into a party after an hour with the Stampede bar ladies going wild to the great tunes by the talented HiFi band.

Other than the beautiful Maganda Filipina ladies, entertainment came in the form of: a stage play of an American tourist stuck on the island ABCnia, onwhich only the ABCnians lived (sexy Filipina cannibals); and the dance show by the Crazy Dutch men.

The questions and answers played a crucial role with some great answers resulting in the following top 5:

The next live judging event is December 13th at 6:30pm. This has not changed; however, let us explain the changes in the live event and judging process for the rest of the contest.

We have taken off their profiles from the main top page. You can still contact them by going to Search and either putting their name in the box or scrolling down to find their pictures. You cannot vote for them, this is the only thing that was disconnected until after the January event. We will be putting together a winners page which will have all brand new photo shoots and video on there. This should be ready by the December event.
 
For the people who want to know the reasoning behind the changes:

We have come across some difficult decisions. First one is a clear one, in which we have decided to pack all 8 semifinals into 3 semifinals for the reason that we felt that 3 absolutely fantastic semi's would be a lot better than 8 mediocre ones, which might start to drag.

Then, there was a misunderstanding on the total finalists as the prior plan was to have 24 finalists. So it was assumed that 8 contestants from each would equal 24.

However, the top 8 would defeat the purpose of getting only the absolute top contestants, therefore we finally decided that the top 5 would be best. In this way, we'd also be able to give more attention and promotion on each finalist before the finals.

Apologies for these changes on our side, however, these were all made to make the best and most entertaining contest.

There were also allegations of the contest being fixed. We have no other assurance to give everyone than sir Gerard's (owner of ABC Hotel and very well respected member of the community) word on this. As everyone who knows him, and many people (and ALL businesses) in Angeles City will know, this is as good an assurance as one can ever get. The gossips that the contest is fixed is made up by a few who want to put the contest down, and we hope that this won't affect the girls from continuing on trying their best to win.

One thing is for sure: the winner of this contest will be the single absolute 'best' girl of Angeles City, even though girls from Subic, Manila or other places are more than welcome to enter and compete, which we have and also wish them the best of luck.

If Canasia has ultimately decided to give up, for whatever reasons, then she wouldn't have had qualified for this category in the first place. We are sad to miss her and wish her the best of luck in her other endeavors.

We have some great ideas and concepts coming up for the contest, and we assure you that the contest by time will be even more spectacular than it already is, on a level that will (hopefully) put Angeles City on the map.

In order to endeavor to have the fairest and best contest, we have now taken off Blocking of Judges by the Contestants. All votes for Contestants have been reset and now all votes up until December 4, 2008 will be the ones for Round 2, live judging event at December 13, 2008 at 7 pm. The voting has ended for the month of September. Thank you Judges for all your support in the first ever Maganda Filipina Swim Suit & Lingerie Contest for 2009. There were over 3,700 votes cast for 45 Contestants.  There was 130,000+ hits on the site. The pictures seem to be getting better and more and more galleries are going up online from the Contestants. There is a start of posting of videos too, which should continue as the contest goes on.

 

Thank you Contestants and if you did not win, that is ok, you have 7 more months to attract the Judges or, like some lucky girls, find guys that you like or exposure to modeling agencies and others worldwide who are also viewing this contest.

 

Now, all the votes are set back to ZERO (0) for October so everyone is on the same and fair playing field.

 

We will be announcing the names shortly after we contact all the winning girls to make sure they can attend the live judging event at the ABC Hotel this Saturday, October 4th, 2008 at 7pm.

As we are endeavoring to make it easier for Judges and Contestants to utilize the Maganda Filipina website, we added a direct Yahoo Messenger link to the Contact page. Tickets are printed and now on sale for the LIVE Judging event that will be held at the ABC Hotel on October 4th, 2008.  This starts at 7pm. Doors open around 6:30pm. Get there early. No assigned seating. The Sponsoring bar will be Honey Ko's on Perimeter Road.

 

After the judging of the Contestants is over, the after party will be at Honey Ko's bar. Keep your ticket so that you can attend, otherwise you will not get in the door.

 

Tickets are 1,000 pesos for guys and 500 pesos for girls. Food and drinks start at 7pm and are FREE until the event ends around 11pm approximately. You can get your tickets at ABC Hotel or Honey Kos bar. Limited tickets and seating. First come, first serve.
